Wow
- I am (once again) overwhelmed by the amount of support for this cause
- thank you to everyone who has donated their marvelous wares and those
who have bought raffle tickets!
Together we have raised over £200 already...
and that's before the actual event.
Last
year The World's Biggest Coffee Morning raised over £15 million pounds.
I'm so glad to be part of it this year. If you can't make mine (details
below) then you can find a coffee morning near you by following this link to the Macmillan Cancer Support website.
OR, you can just sit at home and eat cake - but buy a couple of raffle tickets from me here and be there in spirit!
As
lots of my blogging pals know our gorgeous middle boy Kenzie was
diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer just before his second
birthday, so rare it only affects 30 children a year and with a 50/50
chance of surviving. But survive he did, thanks to the wonderful work of
the team at Manchester Children's Hospital and a large dose of luck.
Last year he was finally signed off from the Oncology department - 9
long years later!
We
didn't have a Macmillan nurse - but I know they do an amazing job
making sure that no one faces cancer alone. Lots of you who have donated
have confirmed this and I know it's a charity close to many of our
hearts. Like many of you we have also lost many precious family members
and friends to this disease - it's pretty hard not to be affected by cancer in one
way or another.
So,
for £1 you can buy a ticket - with the opportunity to win one of the
beautiful handmade treats here
and on my last three blog posts.
There are over 30
prizes now - how ace is that?!
It's almost
too late to send me a prize (I would need it by Friday but a photo
would suffice in the meantime) but it's not too late to buy a ticket or
join me for coffee. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 27th September
just after midday.
I have made some little 'Home' Blocks as a contribution...
...and this crochet blanket. I made it on holiday in France.
When Kenzie was very poorly we couldn't go abroad, or anywhere that wasn't within about an hour of a major hospital... I will never take my holidays for granted!
It's not properly rectangle - but that's the beauty of handmade, right?! |
My address for any more prizes is
423 Stockport Road, Timperley WA15 7XR
And the coffee morning will be here:
Everyone welcome - including little people
(My sister has volunteered to bring some toys!)
Hope to see you there....fee x
It's already a success and it hasn't even started yet!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for Friday,

Have posted mine off first class today, so will hopefully get to you tomorrow

This is amazing Fee, I am a Macmillan Dietitian and always feel very humbled and privileged to be in my job. I held a coffee morning last year and everyone was just so so generous. I will of course be supporting it this and each and every year xox I hope its a resounding success x Penny
ReplyDeleteSO sad I cannot be there... I know I have said it before, but I am stressing the point... ;-) SO excited about all your lovely prizes! I just know you are going to raise LOTS of money!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that it is going so well already. The blanket is beautiful, by the way.
ReplyDeleteOoh, Fee, I wish I could come! I've bought some raffle tickets in the hope that I'll win a lovely prize, but it's one of my favourite charities anyway. Have a fab day and can't wait to see the pictures!
