The post where I realise I dress like a Clown...

So, turns out it wasn't only my family who thought the clown in the photo was me!!!
Bearing this in mind I decided to revisit my wardrobe....and this is what I found:
Current favourite dress
favourite shoes
 ...bag
favourite scarf
favourite ring
(cute isn't it?
It has a little cut out ♥ in the back...a present from Cleggy)

Yep...I dress like a
flamin' clown!

Anyway, inspired by clown antics I made some circus blocks this week (will get them online soon)

I love circus images!
I dressed down for a lovely day out in Knutsford with Emily B. The sun was out for a change, and so was the bunting
We talked (and ate) too much so missed the wool shop! (main reason for picking Knutsford!)

Cleggy and I have been busy writing/taking photos for another book - this time it's '50 fantastic things to do with sand and water'. The kitchen was turned into a science lab - and it made for some interesting photos
Some of the activities are worth a go if you have young children - see Cleggy's current post for how to!

Last make for today - a sign for Mabel's room
Finally I've just noticed I've nearly reached 200 followers (wooo hooo) which can only mean one thing...time for a giveaway celebration. As soon as I reach the golden number it's game on...fee x

  1. I blimmin' LOVE that dress Fee. Where is it from?! Oooooh I could prance around in something like that.
Re clowns, I once interviewed everyone at Zippo's Circus and was a clown for the day. It was lush. Must dig out the pics. I actually thought briefly that I could be a clown!
    Loving the latest blocks.

    1. dress by Sugar Reef (available at Dorothy Perkins no less!)
It's stretchy felt/jersey so a pleasure to wear
To complete my sell I can confirm that it washes well too!
There's a genuine Cherry Tree shop in Knutsford Gem - thought of you!

  2. Clown-like or not, I'm liking your style...Better to be considered to look like a clown than Scarecrow Aunt Sally which I'm sure I pretty much resemble on a daily basis!

    Love your new blocks.

    1. Ah Faith, I just loved Aunt Sally's cheeks. My mum is called Sally so my cousins used to LOVE calling her Aunt Sally. I didn't realise she was a clothes peg for a long time. Or did I dream up that bit.....

  3. Just looked at Cleggy's blog and the About Me bit which I thought was tremendous. Laughed re the David Tenant bit, as the husband gets that often too. A little girl shouted out "Oi, Dr Who" the other day. He also looks like Franz Ferdinand's lead singer. I agree Cleggy looks like Dr Who and Nicholas Cage. And he and my man aren't dissimilar looking.
Can't see that dress in Dotty P website, is it a new one?
Loving the sand and water pics. Science in your kitchen......tres exciting. We just get beans on toast in ours. x x

  4. Oh oh oh!! That ring is Gorgeous! What a brilliant husband you have for giving you such a perfect gift! :-) He does look rather similar to Nicholas Cage doesn't he..!? I had a bit of a thing for him after watching City of Angels when I was younger.. haha!

So sorry I'm been so rubbish at reading and leaving comments lately, I've had a few weeks where I've been feeling pretty exhausted and haven't had the motivation to do as much blogging.. I do love reading your blog though.

  5. Hi Fee,

When you dress like a clown, I dress like one too :-) Isn't it fun wearing polka dots and bright colours! Your new dress is very pretty. So is your new cube and the sign for Mabel's room.

    Happy evening,

  7. The dress and shoes especially are gorgeous! The only thing that you have in common with clowns though is your ability to make people smile. What a naff thing to say, but true! Also, clowns and circuses give me the heebies

  9. Now, I was all "oh don't be so silly, not clown-like at all" until ... I got to the bag!!! Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely lush but also a teeny tiny bit clowny now you come to mention it!

Beautiful, beautiful Mabel door sign and I love the ring. You've got to have a squirty flower ring to qualify as a clown!

  20. Loving circus stuff. Shame I can only see your shoes and not your dress. I'll try and remember to look on my phone at work tommorow as no signal in the middle of nowhere. We used to visit a fabulous circus every summer that did a manic panto. When Rosey was 5 she ended up on Justo the clowns shoulders spinning plates while he was on a unicycle ( he was the girls hero). We loved Martin the civil servant who did it for a hobby and always dropped the plates. He had really big smiley teeth and was cheesy.

The blocks look great - crcus imagery is so vibrant I love it. . I'll be back for your giveaway Fee. I've just sorted out a Craft it Forward thingumebob.

  25. Now you mention it I could probably put together a bit of a clown ish outfit myself, being rather partial to spots on things too. I love your dress, shoes and bag! The circus blocks are so clever, they have real atmosphere of that mysterious circus world. I have found a fab old Ladybird book in granny's attic....would make a lovely set of vintage farmyard blocks!! And lucky little Mabel, her new room sign is adorable.
    Have a great weekend, Fee!

  26. Oh dear, I'm feeling very boring, I couldn't put together a 'clown' outfit if I tried. I could do enough versions of 'undertaker' for a funeral though, and maybe a Santa at Christmas.

    LOVE the circus blocks :D

  27. Clown? If that is a clown outfit then it is a very chic clown outfit. I love your ring....all of it actually. My dress is very classical, as I am quite slim, so gathered frilly type of clothing just doesn't suit me :( Loving the blocks, I bought some blocks ages ago and was going to make something for mum, but time has slipped away and nothing got done, there is always next year lol.

  28. Ooh you must be the best dressed clown around Fee :D hehe, love the spots, the bag and the ring, all gorgeous! Oh and the shoes too :) And those circus blocks are really fun! There is something which always intrigues me about circus imagery though the clown ones are a little scary! Yours and cleggy's project sound like so much fun, (though I imagine not quite as fun to clear up afterwards!) fab photos. Have a great weekend xxx
