Back To Basics

Thank you again for sending so much love for my brave boy.

I was rather peturbed that more than one member of my family thought the clown in the top photo of the previous post was ME! I like to think they meant her smiley face - but fear it may have been her outfit!

Kenzie is still doing well and is loving all the attention.

Meanwhile little brother GB is obviously lacking attention - as he came downstairs at the weekend looking like THIS:

He had even gone to the trouble of painting the inside of the cotton wool red, so that when he pulled it out it looked like it was soaked in blood! What a boy....

Anyway, enough of the hospital talk - back to my staple blog diet (boys, crochet and blocks!)

Here is the message I found on my bathroom door this morning
Not exactly the chic sign my bathroom deserves!
I'm such a crochet sheep - I lurch from blanket, to jar cosy, to scarf to... frankly,  whatever anyone else is making.

I realised pretty quickly that anything that took patience more than one night wasn't for me, so have recently become obsessed with neck warmers (3 WIP's but nothing to show!) and more recently Amigurumi

Inspired by Victoria I set to, making a teeny tiny rabbit for my gorgeous neice Mabel. Except it didn't end up small - it was bloomin' massive!

Cute though.

I didn't expect (1 year old) Mabel to want to actually play with it - but got a text from Nelly saying
"Mabes loves her rabbit - she's currently chewing the buttons....
hope your handy work holds up"
Yikes!
Anyway - undeterred I tried again -
this time a teeny weeny mouse.
And it worked!
Its been a busy few weeks in the chipper shop and I've had some lovely commissions to keep me even busier. These ones were for Claire, who was inspired by Annies recent giveaway!

Claire requested some coordinating blocks in duck egg blue, pale green and mulberry pink, with words that have meaning for her.
They made a lovely collection:

I also made some for Annie! In colours to match her

Finally - some blog shares in case you've missed them

Over at decor8 there are some brilliantly clever ideas for ways to use your instagram images (love the stickers!)
...and at oh, hello friend Danni has a beautiful calendar screensaver on her current post:
 ...there's still time to enter
where you can win fabric, ribbon, yarn, buttons....
...and lastly, in the quest to fill the picnik gap, I'm still loving picmonkey - but also ipiccy, which already has the good old collage option!
That's it.

  1. Love the mouse! So cute. The poop room sign made me laugh I feel that I have that and more to look forward to with my boys. Anything involving bums is funny. My youngest who's two refused to wear pants today and insitedon wearing his older brothers shorts backwards. So when he was running down the hill after we collected his brother from pre-school today. The pulls of the shorts were flapping like a tail and every now and then the shorts would slip down revealing his bare bum leaving my eldest in stitches all the way home! Boys and bums = fits of giggles! :)

As for your creativity - your teeny weeny mousie took my fancy this time, although of course your blocks are divine.

Happiest of days to all in your pocket of the world,

Reminds me of the time my daughter was laying a treasure hunt around the house and we came across this clue .... 'You will find the next clue, where you poo' you can guess where the next piece of paper was stuck!

Hope you having a lovely week.

  17. Loving the Amigurumi, I STILL haven't sewn together the Amigurumi rabbit I started at Easter, I have all the components just can't be arsed, I find crochet a bit like that, I certainly chop and change and lose interest and really love a project I can complete in one evening, hats are good for that!

Great work on the door sign boys, I might just steal that idea! x

  18. So glad you're getting to have a little "normal". Your boys are ingenius and mischievous too...that means they're intelligent and using their brains...it justmakes it hard on Moms sometimes! LOL! I love your crochet and I'm having that same problem...2 big projects; a basket and a blanket which of course go on and on. I love doing them but would like to see a little something for all my work. I did do those little flowers on my mantel like Lucy at Attic24 but I'm in need of another small project I can finish. Your are both darling but I'm partial to the mouse. Your blocks are gorgeous per usual! Take care! Still praying for you all.

  19. My dear Fee,
I can't believe I missed your last couple of posts. I read your latest 3 just now. What awfully scary times you've had with your lovely boy. I'm so pleased that he's well and happy now! Your latest post made me smile - kids can be so funny!!! I keep a little book of the the funny things the kids at school say/do.
I love your teeny tiny mouse. He looks like a real character! :-)
    Happy weekend to you!
    Hugs,

  20. Hello Dear Fee!
Sorry many times over that I haven't popped in to say hello in ages! We brought our sweet boy home about 3 weeks ago and as you well know (having three kiddos yourself) there hasn't been much sleeping going on around here. I didn't even get out of my p.j.s all day yesterday!

Anyway, we're over the moon with happiness for our baby and I'm over the moon to be home and blogging a bit again. Hope your boy is on the mend. LOVE the darling little creatures you've been making. Do you sell those in your shop? That mouse it too cute!

Lots of Love and I'll be back soon!
